Arnold is Obese, according to your Doctor

Syndicated from: The Gates of Horn - Gateway to the Inner Realms on Mon, 10/06/2008 - 18:17

It seems to me that there is a growing tendency in this country now to take anything said by an ‘expert’ with several ounces of salt. Maybe this is because people are beginning to wake up to the current glaring searchlight on the financial industry and are realizing that the people in black Armani suits with power ties are the creeps who have been taking the public for a ride as suckers for years.

Intellectual Honesty in America is a No-no.

Syndicated from: The Gates of Horn - Gateway to the Inner Realms on Sun, 10/05/2008 - 09:17

With the lies of political hacks filling the air, and the current meltdown of the banking system based entirely and only on greed and its yield, it may be a good idea to look at another example of a group that poses as intellectual, unbiased seekers of truth, who are actually merely craving for the popularity of their peers.

With the current decades old deadlock between the Palestinians and the Israelis in mind it may be a good moment to review a bit of recent history showing that it doesn’t pay to be honest about certain matters in America.

Sputnik for 2008

Syndicated from: The Gates of Horn - Gateway to the Inner Realms on Wed, 10/01/2008 - 15:02

Last year at this time I wrote an article about Sputnik and how it changed the world in October 1957. Here is another, with updates and additions, on the verge of the 51st anniversary of that historical event. I know that some teenagers read this site, even though to them Nixon is prehistory so let’s quickly review for the young folks what happened, or what seemed to happen, when Sputnik, the first ever earth satellite, built in Russia, began to orbit the Earth every 96 minutes on October 4th 1957. It had a skin of polished aluminium and was visible from Earth.

Mabon, Second Harvest Festival.

Syndicated from: The Gates of Horn - Gateway to the Inner Realms on Fri, 09/19/2008 - 20:29

Mabon, the Second Harvest Festival, is one of the names given to the time when the pagan Wheel of the Year spins round to the Autumn Equinox. The stories about the Wheel depend on the tradition that produces the stories. I have posted several articles about the eight power points of the Wheel, mainly from my own Celtic viewpoint, though I have gone back as far as Sumeria for some of the links to the present day traditions and rituals. The one most cogent to this one is Lughnassah, 1st Harvest (7/24/2008) since both are to do with Lugh, the God of Light in the Irish, Llew in the Welsh.

At Spin Central

Syndicated from: The Gates of Horn - Gateway to the Inner Realms on Tue, 09/16/2008 - 10:59

As regular readers know I am concerned about connecting dots that most people don’t encounter because of cultural circumstances and straightforward censorship.

As you also know, I make no bones about my views on the current corrupt administration, run by the wealthy, for the wealthy, with sociopaths at the summit of the decision making process.

The Broken Staff

Syndicated from: The Gates of Horn - Gateway to the Inner Realms on Mon, 09/08/2008 - 08:55

The last posting about protein has produced comments among the few in my local group who didn’t realize the tremendous effect that advertising from the food industry had achieved without their awareness. In a little group conversation about food in general the subject became bread, and how or if it too had changed over the years. I went back to the health files and pulled out an article that I wrote during an early winter spell not long since, and updated it a bit.

Protein and You

Syndicated from: The Gates of Horn - Gateway to the Inner Realms on Wed, 09/03/2008 - 11:05

I recently overheard some people, obviously on different TV publicized diets, talking at each other about their need for protein. This matter probably interests some of you who realize that taking care of your vehicle in this incarnation and in this country is harder than it used to be because of the TV and processed food ads. And I heard them talking at each other about A protein being better than B protein, and on and on.
