SLAVISH MENTALITY
Indians are very much at ease with dynastic succession. The same is true for State leaderships and more in central Governmnet leaderships. The very fact that Nehru dynasty has been ruling since gaining independence except for few years in gaps is the ample proof. Currently although PMi's post is not accupied by a member of Nehru family, the entire strings are being pulled from behind by the same family. Now Rajeev's son is being groomed and projected to occupy the chair of Prime ministership of India. With Indian sentiments and slavish attitudes and disposition this could become true in future. Although kings and emperrors have vanished from the land, a new dynasty is growing , rather alreday grown. Thanks to the slavish and sychophant leaders who tend to be more camp followers in the party and in public. Indians have aped western democratic practices for the purpose of theory. But in practice they are fully violated and western values are dumped down the drain. These are reflected in the poems:
India became like a chicken plucked off its feathers
While it was enslaved by others
History's pages are replete of these incidents
And bitter wars were fought between brothers
The slavish spirit has gone into the blood
And the people are down with sentiments and fad
One after the other the dynasties ruled
The reading of history is of course very sad
At last the Mughals have vanished from Delhi
And the last Mughal@ was sent into a distant jail
The rule of English Queen commenced
That put India in spin as they twisted the tail
( @ Bahadur Shah II Zafar was the last Mughal emperor of course name sake. He was tried and convicted for taking part in the war of 1857 and sent to Rangoon jail in Burma where he died in detention)
The English men were at last thrown out
And the new dynasty started off
Nehru* ruled nearly for two decades
With his loyalist and slavish working staff
( * Jawaharlal Nehru was a great freedom fighter and ardent follower of MK Gandhi. He was the first Prime Minister of India after getting independence in 1947)
When Nehru died all were worried
That who would succeed him to the chair
His daughter was young and lacked experience
That pushed Shastri# for the nation’s care
(# LalBahadur Shastri took over as PM after Nehru’s death. He was very strong and honest person of very great integrity although physically weak and small in size. He successfully conducted 1965 indo pak war. But died at Tashkent while negotiating peace with Fileld Marshal Ayub Khan of Pakistan)
Shastri died soon in short span
And yet won the Indo-Pak war
His death opened the gates again
And for the Nehru clan power was never a bar
Indira Gandhi was the only daughter
That Jawaharlal Nehru had and groomed
She was at once pushed into the golden chair
And many senior’s career was thus finally doomed
Her rule lasted for nearly twenty eventful years
With a small gap of course in between
She won the Indo pak war of seventy one
And she remained strong like heavenly queen
The Sikh body guards shot her in cold blood
As a revenge for the Army attack on the golden shrine
The lady gave up life while in office
The militants however thought it was very fine
Fortune opened to her Son Rajiv Gandhi
As his younger brother Sanjay already met his doom
The stooges in the party at once gathered around him
And they were ready to serve him with a broom
The rule of Rajiv commenced at Delhi on grand scale
Again the seniors had to suck the thumb as their usual brand
The poor guy met his end near Madras at Perambadur
For sending Indian troops to fight militants into Lankan Land
The congress lost the power after few years
But soon gained it at the center with its usual copy cat crew
The stooges cried hoarse to make Rajeev’s wife as the queen
And this of course did not however come through
The secrets behind this drama are not known
Although claimed that the lady denied the throne
Manmohan Singh was found the safest bet
To hold the fort till her children have grown
Manmohan is sitting on the throne at Delhi
But the reigns are in the lady’s hand
The power is wielded in a proxy game
The dynasty carries on with sycophants playing the brass band
Rajeev’s son Rahul is now grown
Although very young and yet to learn the tricks of dirty game
The stooges in the party are already around the guy
Projecting him as the future king of great fame
Thus dynastic rule is a common feature in India
And Indians are happy with this usual and familiar game
Many stalwarts have reconciled to their sad fate
They have grown bald and are out of fame
Crooks galore.....
Dear Mr Santosh,
Thanks for the comments. In fact sardar Patel was a strong contender for the PMi 's post at the time of independence. Bur MK Gandhi prefered Nehru. The credit for unifying all princely states with union of India goes to Patel by strong actions including police action against Nizam of Hyderabd. If it was left to the will of Nehru, another Pakistan would have been floursihing in the heart of India. But sadly Patel died too soon after gaining indepence. Probabaly it was a great relief to a section of leaders in India who were stooges of Nehru. The Kashmir problem is the creation of Mr Nehru and right at the moment of driving out Pak- army and intruders from India he took the problem to UNO and till date nothing could be achieved. Azad Kashmir is still with Pakistan and probably India can never take it back from Pakistan. Under Nehru's stewardship India suffered the most humiliating defeat at the hands of Chinese Army. He believed Chinese and rubbed shouldres with their leaders. He created Panch sheel ( Five noble principles) and believed that all would follow them. But the Chinese ledaers stabbed in back and Nehru could never recover from the shock and died in 1964.Al though Credit goes to Nehru for al the sacrifices he made during the struggle for freedom, there are many failures that stare at him. Indian army had to fight massive chinese army with WW II vintage Enfield bolt action rifles and even ammunition was in short supply to them. They had no proper winter clothing even. The army was highly undeveloped and paid price for the casual attitude of leaders in the aspect of defence of nation. India witnessed emergency under Indira Gandhi and those two years were the darkest days. Her policies of projecting Bhinderwale in Punjab boomranged into Khalistan problem. she ordered army action against the holiest temple of Sikhs. She pad price for it. The anti sikh riots too brought discredit to the congress government. Till date no one has been punished. He son Rajiv has no credentials to occpy the chair except he was her son and was also an MP. He blundered by sending Indian Army into Lanka and he was assassinated as a result... Saga of failures is a long chain. Fact is that the party can not win elections without the tag of Nehru or Gandhi name. The stalwarts are simply stooges without back bone who lack confidence in themselves and just hang on to the family for few bits of morsels from them. Hence the sad situation. What we are witnessing about the present government is a puppet show where all the leaders in the party are mere puppets and the show is run by the Gandhi family from behind and the show goes on. with puppets doing some dance numbers. Stalwarts such as PV Narsimha Rao who led the nation in most difficul times is simply forgotten. He was sidelined while living and in death too dishonoured. All and sundry were cremated in Delhi along Yamuna river while PV had no place and his body was sent to Hyderabad. His body was not even burnt fully and the half burnt body in exposed condition was noticed by some people. It was again burnt. The most shameful deed by the concerned who were responsible to cremate the body. The photographs of the half burnt body was flashed in the newspapaers next day and it was ghastly. You said correctly. Prophets are never recognised in their country. Why prophets? In India one is honored only when some foreign country bestows some honor on him . The Indian government wakes up then. the usual drama goes on then. What a shame indeed? But these are facts. Nirad Chaudhri was very correct in his criticsm in his books.

despair
it is truly a matter of fact article. too many people and too many parties and society divided against itself seldom makes progress.
politicians have exploited every way possible to disrupt harmony and cash in on vote banks. india is a country that beats its chest talking about peace, harmony, progress and values is devoid of its very teaching. its lost its moral fabric.
truly sad to see this as this is not the india our elders paid the price for by paying with their lives and futures to get india out of british rule.
aw cmon! of a billion people cant we have a charismatic young dynamic leader with that can lead india to newer heights in the 21st century...
It is a den of cheats everywhere
All sane thinking people hope that some day some guy would rise and lead the country in a spirited way. But till today, India struggled in the grip of Nehru family. the congress party had some young stalwarts such as Madhav Rao Scindia and Rajesh pilot who were up- coming and were thought to be material to lead the counttry. But both guys died very young in accidents. Pilot died in a car accident while Scindia died in air crash. These are thought to be mere accidents. But there is always an air of doubt about these accidents. No party is interested in development of the nation and they are all fishing in troubled waters. In fact MK Gandhi ensured that all opposition to him was cleverly got rid off before Independence was granted to Indians. Netaji Subhas Chadra Bose was the grand example in this case. The Indian political system is based on poor values and corruption that is rampant in the country. The adult franchise in a country where literacy is lacking has been completely clouded by the typical Indian caste barriers, regional feelings, local issues and religious aspects that are narrow. India can never get free from these problems. It would suffer in this centrifuge and swirling shit pool. All most all political leaders can not come out of their sectarian feuds, selfish motives and regional moorings. The political leaders who are aged, some are unable to even talk and move properly and have to be carried on stretcers and wheel chairs still want to be in the fore front of the dirty game and do all tricks to remain in lime light. There is not a single agency in the country that is free of corruption. What hope people can have? The credit must be given to the Englishmen who established some working form and methods in administration throughout the country that is taking care of the country even to day. Or else the country would have disappeared long ago. The country is destined to suffer and disintegrate over a period surely. This is not the prediction of a saddist or alarmist, but is a bitter truth that is very dificult to swallow.

Completely Agree. Even
Completely Agree. Even though the Gandhi family has done nothing but carry on their dynasty people/senior politicians hang around them for what I do not know.
As someone said "No prophet is honoured in his own home" so is the Honorable late Shri P.V. Narasimha Rao
