IS WAR ON TERROR BY ALLIED TROOPS ENTERING SLOWLY INTO PAKISTAN

It is well known that the surviving Taliban and AlQaeda members escaped into Pakistan after the fall of Afghan Taliban government owing to a war by the allied troops as a consequence to 9/11. Ever since then, the war against the terrorists is continuing and it is being waged by the combined troops of Afghan army and allied troops spear headed by Americans and Englishmen.   The criminals are hiding in Waziristan province of Pakistan that is mountainous and treacherous and lawless    and the writ of government hardly runs there (1).

Until now, Washington has regarded Pakistan as a staunch ally in the "war on terror" that was launched in 2001. But the alliance has been weakened by last month's forced resignation of the army strongman, former general Pervez Musharraf, and his replacement by Zardari, Benazir Bhutto's widower.

Nuclear Weapons and Crazy Trigger Happy Mullahs of Pakistan

Of late, there has been great Euphoria in the world regarding the safety of Nuclear weapons that are in the control of Pakistan. Over the past fortnight, even since the crisis in Pakistan broke and eclipsed every other geopolitical story, including Iraq, US officials and analysts have been speaking in different voices on the subject of a jihadi takeover of Pakistan's nuclear weapons. Apart from India, Pakistan is the only country that has nuclear weapons in the region of sub continent. Thanks to the past US administration that turned Nelsons eye while Pakistan was pursuing the weapon programme under its very nose. Some also believe that USA has clandestinely supported the programme. There is a general fear in the world that the nuclear weapon technology should not pass onto the Muslim countries from where they could find way to the murderous Islamic terrorist outfits and even Mullah dominated Iran and pose threat to world as Islamic bomb. AlQaeda has gained importance after Russian withdrawal from Afghanistan and grew by leaps and bounds on the foundations of hatred towards Western civilization.

Pakistan has come back to the original State after a full circle and back to square. The present action by the General is seen as the second coup after his first coup in 1999 in which he seized power from Nawaz Sheriff. Some also would see this as welcome sign for the fear of loosing the country to the mad mullahs and fundamentalist Taliban wielding nuclear arsenal. Can America Withdraw After Trifurcating Iraq?

Iraq has Kurds in three Northern provinces, Sunnis in west and Shiites in south. The Shiite areas control great oil wealth. Kurds also have sufficient oil wealth. Casualties are steadily growing and already the war in Iraq had made serious dent on the strength of republicans in both the houses. Saddam Hussein has been eliminated and Iraq as a power has been cut to size. These two aims have been achieved rather easily. But stability in Iraq is evading and Sunni and Shiites the warring sects are fighting each other. Iraq has become a killing field for suicide bombers.

Spain, The Most Important Target of Al Qaeda

After the terrorist attacks on the U.S. on September 11, 2001, President Aznar became a key ally in the fight against terrorism. Spain backed the military action against the Taliban in Afghanistan and took a leadership role within the European Union (EU) in pushing for increased international cooperation on terrorism. The Aznar government, with a rotating seat on the UN Security Council, supported the intervention in Iraq and has participated in the war. This has also become one of the strong reasons for targeting Spain by Al Qaeda.

Eritrea Identified With Active Terrorism and Politics of Destabilization

Eritrea is a tiny North East African nation close to Ethiopia. It overlooks the Gulf and strategically thus important too. It has Ethiopia, Djibouti and Sudan as immediate neighbors. It has long coast line of Red sea. The Eritrean War of Independence (1961 - 1991 ) was a conflict fought between the Ethiopian government and Eritrean separatists, both before and during the Ethiopian Civil War. The war went on for 30 years until 1991 when the Eritrean People's Liberation Front (EPLF), having defeated the Ethiopian forces in Eritrea, took control of the country. In April 1993, in a referendum supported by Ethiopia, the Eritrean people voted almost unanimously in favor of independence. Formal international recognition of an independent and sovereign Eritrea followed later the same year (1). Thus, another warring nation was born in horn of America adding to chaos, confusion and instability in a volatile region and strategically very important due to approach to Suez Canal, the link between Atlantic and Pacific oceans.

Morocco and Terrorism

The word Morocco is directly derived from the Amazigh word Mur-Akush meaning Land of God. The full Arabic name of Morocco, Al-Mamlaka al-Maghribiya, translates to "The Western Kingdom". Al Maghrib (meaning "The West") is commonly used. For historical references, historians used to refer to Morocco as Al Maghrib al Aqşá ("The Farthest West"), disambiguating it from the historical region called the Maghreb. The name "Morocco" in many other languages originates from the name of the former capital, Marrakech (1). Morocco is a North West African country that is very close to Europe near Spain. It is neighbored by Algeria and Western Sahara and is strategically very important. It is separated from Spain in Europe by Straits of Gibraltar in Mediterranean Sea separating from Atlantic Ocean. It has long Atlantic coast. Muslims occupied Spain in medieval times through these narrow straits and established rule of Moors and finally they were driven out by Francs. AlQaeda leadership claims Spain as a land of Islam and is waging Jihad against it. Morocco is a strong ally of USA and is maintaining cordial relations eversince American independence. It has the oldest functional friendship treaty signed by legendary President John Adams and Jefferson with Moroccan King of the period. However it expressed its opposition to American war on Iraq stating that it would antagonize Muslim fundamentalists in the country.
