In all societies across the world and in various religions offerings are made to the God. Is it for appeasing him or as a sense of gratitude? Some do it as ritual while do it expecting some benefit. HUMAN VALUES IN CHRISTIANITY

Some critics describe Christianity as a religion that is devoid of human happiness, inculcates fear and that the followers are after salvation that is a mirage. But Jesus was a source of happiness and those who follow him would also be happy. They should not worry over the difficulties encountered during their lives and scared of challenges enroute. However saying  is easy but in practice it is very difficult as people say. The Christians must concentrate on Jesus and heavens and with great devotion and faith must lead their lives instead of going down in unhappiness and dejection. At no point of time, Jesus said that he would remove all difficulties for his followers. He said that he would help and standby those who are in difficulties during the life. He would help the followers to carry their cross of their difficulties with patience, determination and love. He would fill love in the hearts of his followers and reduce the burden of their grievances. He demonstrated to the world by carrying his own cross and sacrificed himself on the Cross and even at the time of his death, he did not blame any one. Therefore all Christians loving Jesus and having faith in him must carry their own Cross of grievances with cheer and follow the foot steps shown by Lord Jesus. This is the true life of a Christian.............................

God, Jesus and Christianity

All the Christians believe in the God. God exists outside the universe that he created. Humans are made in the image of god. God has no variations while humans are varied in appearance, conduct and thinking. God is spiritual while humans are in possession of physical existence. Humans can think and decide what is good and bad and are capable of taking decisions accordingly. All world religions believe in God in some way or other. In certain religions, God is seen as entirely independent while others view God and world as one. These two are the two extreme assumptions and beliefs.

Is the Christian Leadership Structure Pagan?

A short review of a new book by Frank Viola and George Barna (titled Pagan Christianity) asks: “Is the Pastorate Pagan?” There is another review by Darren King at Precipice Magazine. While I would personally answer yes to the question asked by the review and suggested by the book title, I find the use of the term “Pagan” to be very misleading and even sophomoric.

Can Jesus Save Non Christians and Those Who are not Baptized?

Can a non Christian be saved by Jesus when he has faith in the Lord? This is an intriguing question that torments many. In fact all religions preach that Lord (God) is full of love, compassion and grace. The human response to God is purely individual and no intermediate person or facilitator is required. Islam is absolutely clear on this aspect and there is no priestship in Islam. Then why the religions have introduced some ceremonies, rituals which have become almost compulsory to identify a person with the religion? Christianity has prescribed baptism while Islam and Buddhism also have different methods to undergo before a person is accepted into the fraternity. Is it essential to become a Christian, Muslim, Buddhist or Hindu to get salvation or reach God in other terms (Except Buddhism which does not dwell on God)? Does God save one because he also belonged to his stream of thought (Religion)? Does it mean that all others who do not subscribe to one stream of belief are destined to go to hell?

Animal and Human Sacrifice in Religion: Is God Pleased?

The rituals involving animal sacrifice are age old in world religions. In fact all the world religions have tribal moorings and the rituals and religious customs appear to have originated from tribal ancient practices and primitive religions. Antiquity of this practice can not be established.…There were also some cannibals in some parts of the world who killed and ate human beings, mostly their adversaries. Some tribes sacrificed their victims and ate them while few tribes ate the dead. It was believed that the Gods, in whom the men believed, could be satisfied by offering fresh food as offering.…Regardless of its origin, the sacrifice of animals in homage to the gods was an idea that obviously had wide acceptance and this practice has been accepted by the words major religions and rituals infact sanctified these acts.

The Role of Caste in Christian Society in India

Caste is peculiar to India and Hinduism. Caste is the social distinction in Hindu society and is attributed to one’s birth. Although Vedas have not sanctioned the division of the Hindu society on the present day concept that is being practiced for the past many centuries, the practice has become deep rooted and digested in to each cell of Hindu individuals. Bhagavad-Gita states that the social division known as caste was made by the Lord based on one’s traits. One could attain higher social order by conducting himself in superior way. Thus, scriptures do not sanction the present practice of caste system in Hindu society. The class of untouchables now called Dalits is at the lowest orders of the lowest caste called Shoodra ( Servent class) while the upper castes are Brahmin( Priestly class), Kshatriya ( warrior class), Vaisya ( Trading class) and it is not clear how this class emerged (1).

The Role of Women In Christianity

In human societies, women have great role to play. Man was the bread winner mostly while the woman managed home and shaped the upbringing of children in all the societies in the world. The role of the women speaks volumes of the society itself, its advancement, values and her status decides the real growth and maturity of the society. Wherever women are, tormented, humiliated and confined to the homes, considered as the means of satisfying ones lust and suppressed, the societies have not progressed in general and they decayed. The children in such societies mostly became fundamentalist in nature, undisciplined, poorly educated and criminal minded too. The role of the women in society is on two fronts. What is their religious standing in society and do they enjoy equal opportunities and status as men in other aspects? The question is about the religious rights and thus these are deliberated upon.
