WHAT IS WRONG WITH US IN INDIA?

On the political front, India basically suffers from the self-glorification as a world peacemaker and apostle of peace. It beats it’s drum as the world peacemaker although it fought many wars with Pakistan and continues to fight in Jammu and Kashmir ( J & K) a proxy war. It is fighting many separatist outfits in North Eastern front apart from the militant communists all over the country except in few states. Yet it claims as the land of peace. With departed MK Gandhi in backdrop as father of nation, many acclaim it as a unique nation that won freedom by non-violence and admired India. During the tenure of Pundit (Enlightened) Jawaharlal Nehru, the first and much acclaimed Prime Minister, it founded Non Aligned Movement (NAM) along with President Sukarno of Indonesia, Marshal Tito of Yugoslavia, Charismatic President Gamel Abdel Nasser of Egypt and preached world peace and some world nations joined the out fit. Most of these nations were insignificant and poor nations and had no say on world affairs. They were just clapping crowd and trying to find some identity on world forums. Super powers had their own inhibitions about NAM and cared hoots to it. John Dulles the famous Secretary of State, USA in the past called Non alignment as a sin much to the indignation of the NAM leaders who fumed and fretted..................

AT A RAILWAY STATION

India has a very large railway net work. Thanks to the English men who laid the large network and united the country. Compared to the railway network laid by the Englishmen in the country, what the Indian government could add further is miserably small. That itself speaks of the state of affairs. It is a sad that the government is even unable to maintain the tracks made and struggling day and night. It is generally believed that for a rupee spent by government only 20 to 30 Paisa work is done while rest is pocketed at various levels. The railway stations are dirty, trains run late as a habit, crime is large and corruption at various levels is significant like any other department in India. The only happiness is that Indians are independent and can do whatever they feel like and they do same now. A railway station speaks for the nation by and large.

AT A BUS STATION

India has a long way to go and it has own ways of doing things. Over population, lack of education, casual attitude, indiscipline, lack of public sense and inefficiency in general are the hall mark of the society. It is reflected at every corner and establishment in the country. Thus inspite of great strides made in varous fields , the society can not catch the western standards of civic life and discipline. WAY OF LIFE

Every one is busy in this maddening world and none has time for others.Own friends betray at times and dig pits and when we fall they laugh. If we are simple others call us fools.Men marry and later kill wives for dowry. Women commit suicides after killing their kids. The cruel men remarry only to kill again.Women are ready to be hired although dead tired out of sheer helplessness.Where we are all going in the mad state. Government has forgotten poor and needy and the officers from top to bottom are busy collecting wealth. Under the garb of pollution checks people are harassed while industry owners get scot free,. What type of justice is this in this corrupt land. Corruption is world phenomonon as per late Indira Gandhi, the slan PM of India. Thus, it has been regularised by the great leaders. Then why worry. Be happy with the state you have..........

MILITARY RULE A CONSTANT DANGER TO DEMOCRACIES

Armed forces in any country have the sacred role of defending the country from external aggression and protect the constitution. They also help in maintaining internal order by helping the government when need arises. At times they have to wage preventive war for defending the country. Armed forces also help the government by taking part in relief operations incase of natural calamities, such as floods, earthquakes, Tsunami and floods. The question is why such armed forces with noble aims betray the confidence of people and resort to coup de tat.

GANDHI LAMENTS... Part IV

M K Gandhi is credited for leading the Indian struggle for Independence from the British rule. There is no doubt that he sacrificed greatly and suffered prison terms and persecution by the authorities. He is known for fighting against racial discrimination in South Africa before he returned to India. Gandhi practiced and preached non violence even against enemy and although India gained freedom, India was bifurcated and Pakistan was created. Gandhi was honored with titles of father of nation and   Mahatma (Great soul).  MK Gandhi is also severely criticized for his Muslim appeasement polices and bifurcation of India is held against his polices and consequently he was assassinated by Nathuram Vinayak Godse on 30 January 1948 at Birla Mandir while proceeding for the prayer. Sixty years have passed since gaining of independence and over these years, the politicians in India have used Gandhi’s name for acquiring power and winning elections while Gandhi is discarded into a dust bin. The moral path shown by him is discarded and the politics in the country have become a cess pool and India has earned great ill reputation as the most corrupt nation in the world. Democracy is on paper while in spirit and practice it is violated to the hilt. Dynastic rule is the order of the day. The moral fiber has dissipated. Gandhi’s soul hovering in the sky without attaining peace probably must be crying loud beating its bared chest with anguish at the fallen norms and failure of his vision. Probably, he must be repenting for getting freedom for India after seeing the downfall in India. His anguish is presented as a set of poems.

Oh My India !.................... PART II

India copied its constitution from Western democracies. But in practice has made a mockery of it. The country boasts as the largest practicing democracy. But the truth is far from it in real sense. There are many scamsters, cheats and anti social elements facing court cases and some were convicted too who are continuing in the government.Family rule has become a right. When a leader dies, his son or wife or daughter succeeds him to the position. It is a game of rehabilitation. In fact the highest house of elders has become the place of political rehabilitation and to appaese some old horses who can not run... The puppet show at central governmnet goes on .. In fact it is a mockery of democracy....These are expressed as English poems.
