What a Long, Strange Trip it's Been

In it, I used terminology that I no longer use, nor can relate to. Brian was ahead of me, and made an important observation that is rather telling, in retrospect. If you've been following along these few years, or you're new to faithCommons and curious about the road we've traveled, then now is an opportunity to look back over the shoulder of the site called faithcommons.org
TRUTH As A Commons

Most notable was that I saw the need for Thematics to be seen as a control mechanism that more often than not places limits on behavior and faith. For instance it is very common to first meet a person and be asked, "Where do you go to church?" That is a loaded question -- loaded with all kinds of value judgments and connecting Themes.

These are major sections that describe first the current situation and how we got here; second the way to faith in a technologically advanced twenty-first century that allows for science and rationality as well as pluralism in religion and philosophy; and third the Commons of faith, why faith requires the commons perspective even more in our global world and how faith contributes to the commons; and fourth to keep the faith we must seek inspiration while constantly smashing idols that suck the life out of the Faith Commons.

Submitted by bill on Sat, 04/07/2007 - 11:48. blook faithcommonsThis is a blook about Faith as a Commons. It is about rational faith in the twenty-first century, that is part of, and contributes to the Commons of the global and pluralistic world that we live in.
The outline will develop here and fill in with draft material and comments from anybody and everybody interested in the project. When it is complete, version 1 will be released, and work will continue to improve it until the time comes for another release.
Faith Commons, Introducing The Blook
Submitted by bill on Sat, 02/17/2007 - 10:54. blook faith faithcommons the commonsLet's go on an adventure. It's an online adventure and it will be the writing of a blook together. No, that's not a typo. Blook is a book that is written online, the mashup of blog and book. But this won't be just any book. This blook won't have editions like bound books, but will have releases like software. As we learn something new, or understand something better, we will update part of the blook. It will be an open source blook as well. There will be multiple authors and even perhaps, multiple websites or communities. It may even have multiple tables of contents to give a different sequence for a different purpose. But what is it about?
