Foreign countries have become alert and are also warning their nationals to avoid visiting this country much acclaimed as land of peace. Even cricketing countries such as Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, West Indies and Pakistan are apprehensive of visiting the country for the fear of terrorists operating around. India is a vast country but not the size of USA. After September 9/11 calamity in USA, there has not been a single incident in USA during the last seven years and the government has tightened the security system severely It sidelined all religious aspects and politics. It brought patriotic act into force and security was tightened severely (1). England formulated Anti terrorism, Crime and security act 2001 and strictly implemented. Although there were public uproar government went ahead strongly.

Hindus form the majority in the country followed by Muslims. Christians, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists in the country. The country has been plagued by religious intolerance in some province or other ever since it’s founding. The fissures between Hindus and Muslims are well known to exist and the country has been living through all these years. Of late intolerance against Christians has been growing in the country. There have been violence against Christians in the Orissa State in the past and it was alleged that Christian missionaries in the state are resorting to conversion of poor Dalits (Formerly known as untouchables) and tribals luring them with monetary benefits (1)....

a. How much money you are making this way or that way
b. What is the official power you enjoy in society
c. Do have some thing with you i.e authority for which others flock to you
d. Are you given special powers and authority as commissioned officer in civil society
e. Are you given exemption for vital things in society or made to stand in line always along with sundry and whores, pimps and some times anti socials too.
How much money you make is agin controversial. governmnwt servents can not make fortunes if they are limited to their prescribed salary as per what they get as pay cheque.

Thanks to the vacillating practice of pseudo secularism in India right from the days of partition of sub continent in 1947. Terrorists have been striking regularly at different places with impunity in India killing scores of innocents. As per the study, India stands at the top of list of terrorist attacks and stands above Iraq and Israel combined (1). The targets in India have been crowded market places, parks, temples, eating joints and mosques where people congregate in large numbers to spend time either in devotion or for pleasure seeking. Many times, such sites have turned into blood soaked centers where people have lost lives and limbs. Mothers have lost children, husbands lost wives and wives lost husbands in such mindless acts.....

The government hospitals in the city that cater for the poor mostly are facing serious problems with the doctors resorting to strike protesting against assaults by goons of patients including members of legislature on them and the patients are being turned away. This is causing untold suffering to humanity in the city where majority are poor and depend on the services of Government hospitals. Private hospitals and nursing homes are very expensive and beyond reach of a common man.

To day they form part of Kerala State.Kings os Travancore –Cochin are dynamic, scholarly, music loving and god fearing. Velu Tambi resisted the humiliating conditions to the king by the English Governor Macaulay. He led a revolt against East India Company in 1808 along with troops of Cochin. But his efforts were not successful under superior enemy and finally he committed suicide after ensuring that the king and his people came to no harm. He preferred death than capture and dishonor.

He as the Guru (Teacher) of Maratha warrior Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was credited to have inspired him to rise against the Muslim suppression and build a Hindu Kingdom. Accordingly, Shivaji succeeded in building an independent Maratha Hindu State under the very nose of Emperor Aurangzeb that arrested Islamisation of India and played great role in the ultimate destruction of Mughal Empire. Maratha empire dominated Indian political scene till it was shadowed by English power in India. Thus Sant Ramdas occupies an important position in the history of India ( 1). As a spiritual master he occupies an important position among world religious teachers.

Proposed Destruction of Ramar Sethu (Adams Bridge) Touched Hornet's Nest

Culture & Society india rama ramar sethu ramayana srilankaRamar Sethu is name of the bridge constructed by Rama’s Army that was described in Ramayana, the Hindu pious scripture. The long bridge is believed to have been built across the sea linking India and Srilanka across 50 km wide Palk straits. The ships traveling from Bay of Bengal to Arabian sea coast of India and Gulf have to circle it around Sri Lanka due to the submerged obstruction by Ramar Sethu in Palk straits. Otherwise these ships would sail freely through Palk straits there by saving great amount of time and distance. Small boats could travel, but ships can not negotiate due to the obstructions beneath. The Indian Government is trying to clear this obstruction to facilitate ships passage (1). The trouble begins here.

Some of the accused who are arrested are Indian doctors and Engineers. They have studied higher education in India and were pursuing further higher studies and profession abroad. These persons were Muslim youth and are being linked to AlQaeda organization. What a disaster and disgrace? (7) At various forums Indian leaders declared thumping their chests or bosoms that Indian Muslims were not suspect. Even now all the Muslims are not suspect. But a section has already brought bad name to the nation internationally. Probably, India would be seen as the exporter of terrorism a new credit in international arena. If not openly, atleast in hush hush. All these years, India has been considered as the exporter of technical man power to west. Indians were considered brainy. What a fall now? Now it would be seen as the exporters of educated terrorists from professional field too. (8).

In a statement Abu Abdul Rahman Ansari who claimed to be the spokesperson of ’Al Qaeda Hind' warned all Mainstream and Separatist political organizations to stop deceiving the people of Kashmir.
“With the blessings of Almighty Allah we declare a Jihad against the Indian occupation in Kashmir, and we warn the all political and militant organizations operating in Kashmir, not to mislead Kashmiris”.
