Is it for appeasing him or as a sense of gratitude? Some do it as ritual while do it expecting some benefit. Does the God accept these offerings? Can he be influenced by such offerings? Will he make judgment by taking these into account? Such questions need answering.

Animal and Human Sacrifice in Religion: Is God Pleased?
Submitted by K Prabhakar Rao on Sun, 10/28/2007 - 15:34. animal sacrifice Christianity Culture & Society Hinduism human sacrifice Islam Jihadism judaism religion sacrificeThe rituals involving animal sacrifice are age old in world religions. In fact all the world religions have tribal moorings and the rituals and religious customs appear to have originated from tribal ancient practices and primitive religions. Antiquity of this practice can not be established.…There were also some cannibals in some parts of the world who killed and ate human beings, mostly their adversaries. Some tribes sacrificed their victims and ate them while few tribes ate the dead. It was believed that the Gods, in whom the men believed, could be satisfied by offering fresh food as offering.…Regardless of its origin, the sacrifice of animals in homage to the gods was an idea that obviously had wide acceptance and this practice has been accepted by the words major religions and rituals infact sanctified these acts.

Bangladesh in Network of Global Terrorism
Submitted by K Prabhakar Rao on Thu, 06/07/2007 - 15:18. al qaeda bangladesh india Islam terrorismOf late, the outlawed terrorist and militant organizations in Bangladesh have become active with instability of political situation in Bangladesh. These are Harkat ul Jihad (HUJI) Hizbut Towhid, Jagrata Muslim Janata (JMJ), Muslim Guerilla Sangashta (MGS), Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB). These are now active in southwest region of the country that are Kushthia, Mirpur,, Jenida, Jessore, Khulna, Narail and Satkhira provinces. These 12000 militants are invariably students from Madrasas (religious schools) where fundamentalists are bred in the name of religion. Police claim that they arrested 26 in Kushtia, in 2003, 35 in Jhenidah in 2004 and four in Satkhira recently. Most of the militants who went underground following crackdown on them after serial bomb blasts in August 17, 2005 have now resurfaced and become active. Police also claim that the situation is under control, but it is doubtful (5). These Militant outfits want the entire country turned into Talibanised (Bengali Version) State. They abet terrorism and are indulging in cross border terrorism and exporting terrorist activities into India. Young misguided Muslim youth from India are being trained in Bangladesh into these terrorist activities and are being sent to take up suicide missions. The suicide bomb explosion in Hyderabad at Special Police Headquarters in the city few years ago was engineered by Bangladeshi terrorists and one Home guard was killed in the action as most of the inmates were away being a holiday. The Bangla terrorist link is also suspected in the recent bomb blast in Mecca Maszid in Hyderabad. Nearly seven Muslims died while praying and another seven were shot dead in police firing to quell the rampaging mobs after the blast. Thus Bangladesh is actively involved in exporting Terrorism. It is also on the net work of AlQaeda organization.

Submitted by K Prabhakar Rao on Tue, 12/12/2006 - 22:18. Buddhism Christianity god Hinduism Islam Jainism Judaism religion Sikhism ZorastianismThe aspect of God being omni present and omni potent is accepted by all the religions. Buddhism however refused to discuss the issue of God and it felt it was of no relevance. It neither rejected nor confirmed. Every religion has its own prescription for the God. Man has evolved on this earth over many years and originally he was a cave dweller and aboriginal. He lived by hunting animals and birds and as time passed, man learned to live in societies or tribes. From the beginning, man was fascinated by the powers of the nature such as fire, thunder, Storm and winds, stars, sun and moon, rain, earth quakes, volcanos, ocean waves, powerful wild animals, fearsome serpents, fearful monsters in sea and rivers, disease and big mountains. He had no control over them. He could not explain birth and death. Thus he believed that there was something highly powerful than him on this earth which could not be overcome. He revered all these forces of nature. Thus worship of powers of nature began. These powers were called Gods and were depicted in variety of forms as the imagination grew along with capacity to depict, paint and carve as civilization progressed (1).
Distributing Condoms, In the Name of Allah
Submitted by Rabbi Daniel Brenner on Mon, 11/06/2006 - 15:42. IslamDeep in the Highbridge section of the Bronx, nestled between a nail salon and a bodega, you’ll find a small office waiting room with a wicker basket full of condoms. Nothing shocking, you might think, if this basket happened to be sitting in a community health clinic or a gynecologists’ office. But this particular basket full of prophylactics is sitting next to an Arabic sign displaying the Muslim prayer positions.

Religious Tolerance and Islam
Submitted by K Prabhakar Rao on Wed, 11/01/2006 - 12:01. Islam religious toleranceAlthough the Islamic scholars profess that Islam is a religion of peace, compassion, universal brotherhood and love, it faces stiff allegation from followers of other religions who of late have become victims of Islamic fundamentalism. It is claimed that violence is propagated by Islam. The world has been engulfed in Terrorism and the world events are also indicative that although all Muslims are not terrorists, the terrorists are invariably Muslims. The number of terrorists captured, slain and have died in suicide missions and their origin stand testimony to this fact.
