IS WAR ON TERROR BY ALLIED TROOPS ENTERING SLOWLY INTO PAKISTAN

It is well known that the surviving Taliban and AlQaeda members escaped into Pakistan after the fall of Afghan Taliban government owing to a war by the allied troops as a consequence to 9/11. Ever since then, the war against the terrorists is continuing and it is being waged by the combined troops of Afghan army and allied troops spear headed by Americans and Englishmen.   The criminals are hiding in Waziristan province of Pakistan that is mountainous and treacherous and lawless    and the writ of government hardly runs there (1).

Until now, Washington has regarded Pakistan as a staunch ally in the "war on terror" that was launched in 2001. But the alliance has been weakened by last month's forced resignation of the army strongman, former general Pervez Musharraf, and his replacement by Zardari, Benazir Bhutto's widower.

PAKISTAN IN THE GRIP OF TERRORISM

Pakistan now under democratic civil government is caught in a whirlpool of terrorist activities. There is an ancient saying, “As you sow, so you reap". It is being devoured by a demon which is it’s own creation. Pakistan that was based and found on the concepts of hatred and violence towards others, Particularly Hindus encouraged politics of destabilization and hatred in India. Kashmir being the focal issue, it invaded Kashmir along with tribals immediately after formation in 1948 (1). Having failed to grab Kashmir by force, it resorted to proxy war, covert operations and encouraged insurgency, guerilla war and acts of terrorism in the Kashmir valley and in other parts of India. All types of Terrorist outfits found safe haven in Pakistan and these outfits were quartered, abetted, armed, funded and trained in the camps in Pakistan................

A THREAD TO HANG ON ATLEAST NOW… TERRORIST LINK

Terrorism has taken deep roots in India. Thanks to the vacillating practice of pseudo secularism in India right from the days of partition of sub continent in 1947. Terrorists have been striking regularly at different places with impunity in India killing scores of innocents. As per the study, India stands at the top of list of terrorist attacks   and stands above Iraq and Israel combined  (1).  The targets in India have been crowded market places, parks, temples, eating joints and mosques where people congregate in large numbers   to spend time either in devotion or for pleasure seeking.  Many times, such sites have turned into blood soaked centers where people have lost lives and limbs.  Mothers have lost children, husbands lost wives and wives lost husbands in such mindless acts.....

SADDAM IN HEAVENS

In the center of a simple room Saddam Hussein is seen sitting. He is in full Iraqi military uniform with a hand gun at the belt. He has the usual stiff gait and air. A side door opens and a guard holding AK 47 rifle enters. He salutes smartly..

Guard. Sir! there is a visitor to see you

Hussein. Please get him in.

(From the door a frail and lean stooping figure enters. He has only a white loincloth with a long walking stick. He is bald with spectacles of old fashion. Saddam Hussein does not recognize him. He does not offer him seat either after seeing his personality).

Hussein. Hey old man!  Who are you and what made to come here to see me?

Stranger. I am Gandhi.. Good old Gandhi............

EARTHWORMS

Probably  the country needs war not one but many so that voice of army is heard by the civil servants.  . Some guys of course react that it was wishful thinking and out of frustration due to failure of civil government in reacting to demands of army. There is no frustration on this side. The real fact is that peace time army has no respect and also will have no respect especially in this land of oppertunists. This is truth whether some one likes or not. Many know this but out of modesty act as if not true or be a cat on the wall. They look other way. Many guys see Army as a waste of national resources. Are we maintaining army as a show piece as a safety factor? Second is rather true. We have already fought many wars and lost some major too. But for Army, Delhi would have been with Pakistan. In 1965, Field Marshal Ayub Khan declared that He would have breakfast at Rawalpindi and lunch at Delhi or something to that effect. It shows how poorly he assessed and how very confident he was. They were so confident when American Patton Tanks lumbered across the borders in hundreds. Army then has shown what it means with World War II vintage American built Shermans and British Centurions. Kudos to them. Some guys who  claim to be the only experts in modern tank warfare might feel happy in arm chairs without seeing a round being fired from a tank at enemy. Cheers to them. Leaders like Lal Bahadur Shastri and Jagivan Ram, Defense minister had guts and in fact Indians could have good lunch with roasted chicken and beer at Lahore. I am sorry. We are Gandhians. No Chicken and beer. We should not say loud. Topiwallahs might get offended. We could have had some vegetables and goat’s milk, peeled bananas and Parathas in Lahore. Otherwise Gandhis soul would weep beating its chest and tearing clothes. We also would get into sins and land in hell................

WILD GOOSE CHASE

Indian army is having problems with the much debated  Arjun Tank the main Battle Tank that has taken  more than  three decades to  crawl on the raod.  The tank developed by the Indian defence research team after rediscovering Newtons law  from time to time could not impress the armed forces. The tank is seen as a sitting duck. On the other front Pakistan has successfully produced Al Kahlid tanks are in regular production. Very soon swan son has to be sung for these Arjun Tanks although some guys desperately have  soft corner for these metal boxes. The DRDO (Defense Research and Development Organization) has taken the people of this country on a wild goose chase all these years.......................

ALQAEDA AND TALIBAN ARE SAFE IN PAKISTAN

Afghan- NATO war against Taliban and AlQaeda entrenched in Waziristan of Pakistan is going on endlessly. A NATO force have no respite and as the days pass elimination of these terrorists from Pakistan is getting more complex. In fact, Taliban and AlQaeda leaders and rank and file escaped into the inhospitable Waziristan across the Afghan border when US forces along with the allies hammered them in Afghanistan after Sept 9/11 (1). Mullah Omar, the notorious AlQaeda leader and No 2 after Osma bin laden along with the cabinet leaders of Taliban are hiding in Waziristan. This is an open secret and entire world knows it. Waziristan is a tribal area with hostile inhabitants who are infamous for their lawlessness and contempt for any law and organized civilized conduct. Even British Government found it extremely difficult to subdue them while there were ruling Indian sub continent before 1947. They fought many wars with the tribals residing in Waziristan then called North Western Forntier provinces ( NWFP). Pakistan has been paid huge amounts by the US government all these years to keep up pressure over the terrorists and to help US in capturing them (2). No doubt Pakistan remained a loyal friend ( Stooge is rather a hard and harsh word)to USA all these years, Taliban and AlQaeda could not be wiped out from their hideouts, as Pakistan literally has no sway there. Pakistan ha lost many soldiers in operations in Waziristan. Driven to wall, Pakistan came to some understanding with the tribals of Waziristan that was very much disliked by USA. The US senators also debated this aspect in the past and some of them even called for US action within Pakistan to flush out the terrorists. However all these years US has been maintaining pressure on Pakistan’s former President General Pervez Musharraf to hunt down Osama bin laden and other terrorist leaders. Taliban and Al Qaeda have regrouped themselves after the initial devastation during the Afghan war and Taliban ranks have been waging endless guerilla war against NATO forces by crossing the border and running back in to their hideouts (3). As a matter of fact, Taliban has sway in some of the border districts of Afghanistan and have established influence over the civilian population. Continuous battles take place against NATO forces (4). The stalemate continues. How long this war has to continue?

In the latest scenario, Afghanistan’s President Hamid Karzai threatened that He would send his forces into Pakistan’s areas to hunt the terrorists and he had the right to do so..........

GANDHI LAMENTS... Part IV

M K Gandhi is credited for leading the Indian struggle for Independence from the British rule. There is no doubt that he sacrificed greatly and suffered prison terms and persecution by the authorities. He is known for fighting against racial discrimination in South Africa before he returned to India. Gandhi practiced and preached non violence even against enemy and although India gained freedom, India was bifurcated and Pakistan was created. Gandhi was honored with titles of father of nation and   Mahatma (Great soul).  MK Gandhi is also severely criticized for his Muslim appeasement polices and bifurcation of India is held against his polices and consequently he was assassinated by Nathuram Vinayak Godse on 30 January 1948 at Birla Mandir while proceeding for the prayer. Sixty years have passed since gaining of independence and over these years, the politicians in India have used Gandhi’s name for acquiring power and winning elections while Gandhi is discarded into a dust bin. The moral path shown by him is discarded and the politics in the country have become a cess pool and India has earned great ill reputation as the most corrupt nation in the world. Democracy is on paper while in spirit and practice it is violated to the hilt. Dynastic rule is the order of the day. The moral fiber has dissipated. Gandhi’s soul hovering in the sky without attaining peace probably must be crying loud beating its bared chest with anguish at the fallen norms and failure of his vision. Probably, he must be repenting for getting freedom for India after seeing the downfall in India. His anguish is presented as a set of poems.
