Is it for appeasing him or as a sense of gratitude? Some do it as ritual while do it expecting some benefit. Does the God accept these offerings? Can he be influenced by such offerings? Will he make judgment by taking these into account? Such questions need answering.

He was the greatest exponent of Adwaita philosophy in Hinduism. He lived for a short period of only 32 years. But during his short presence on this earth he contributed immensely to the Hindu philosophy, vedic scriptures and faith. He led scholarly crusade against Buddhism that was engulfing India. He became an ascetic at a very young age, mastered the scriptures and traveled throughout India and defeated scholars on religious matters and reestablished Hinduism to its past glory subsequently Buddhism declined rapidly in India and literally disappeared from the land where it originated. In fact all the world religions have tribal moorings and the rituals and religious customs appear to have originated from tribal ancient practices and primitive religions. Antiquity of this practice can not be established.…There were also some cannibals in some parts of the world who killed and ate human beings, mostly their adversaries. Some tribes sacrificed their victims and ate them while few tribes ate the dead. It was believed that the Gods, in whom the men believed, could be satisfied by offering fresh food as offering.…Regardless of its origin, the sacrifice of animals in homage to the gods was an idea that obviously had wide acceptance and this practice has been accepted by the words major religions and rituals infact sanctified these acts.

Faith, Meaning & Purpose Hinduism vidyaranyaVidyaranya Swami (1296-1386) a distinguished scholar, spiritual guide of great eminence and a sage lived in 13-14 Th centuries in Karnataka state of India. He was born on 11 April, 1296 to Mayanacharyulu (A distinguished scholar of Vedas) and SriMati Devi. His original name was Madhavarya. Vidyaranya and his brothers initially received education from his father and subsequently left home to learn from another teacher. He was known as Vidyaranya after his renunciation in 1331. He is well known for his most scholarly works on Vedas and other scriptures that are treated as authority. His role in arresting Islamisation of South India was very great.
