CONFERENCES IN ARMY STYLE

Conferences are normal in all organizations. But in army they acquire special significance as army claims to be a top class manager ( Althouh by virtue of provisions of uniform most of the works are done promptly). Conferences are usually meant for co- ordination, special briefing and collecting feed back and for discussions across the table. But some times the conferences become a waste of time too (Mostly?). Some senior guys have the habit of calling a conference for every silly thing too. Generally the boss is fond of collecting all his guys in front of him and his ego is satisfied in such way.

BEST COUPLE OF THE EVENING>> PARTIES ARMY STYLE

The competition of best couple of the evening is widely conducted in various star clubs and hotels. Socializing has become very common now days in private clubs and Hotels. As usual, Army has it’s own ways. Army has closed officers mess system and at major stations station clubs are present that cater for Army requirements. Membership is limited naturally to service guys only for officer’s cadre. Defense services officers club, Rajender Sinhji Institute, are some of the examples. Various functions are held on new years day, Corps day, seeing off the very senior guys as Station commanders and Generals. Lesser souls have no place.

DOWN THE DRAIN

There are ample number of guys in army who have lost a bright career by the whimsical bosses during the service. There are ample number of tales. Army pehaps does not need an over intelligent man and an average intelligence is that what is needed. The trouble with intelligent guys is hat they analyse and this is what disliked in services. What is mostly required is Yes Sir...Yes sir three bags full.. What a sorry state indeed.

FAD OF EQUIVALANCE

 Although cadest join army  as gentlemen cadets most of them soon get frustrated with  diminished oppertunities compared to outside. Although commissioned rank  is equivalent to IAS and other equal services the fact is that he does not enjoy the same  status outside. Civil rank is supreme whether some onle likes it or not. Because this is a democracy.  The  army and civil equivalance has already caused great heart burn and many letters were issued  to the effect. cadre review in Army has degraded the service to such as extent that it can not be pened. In fact  army has no equivalence. It is unique by itself and can not be compared to any service. Be happy what you are and fade out gracefully.....
