October 29 @ 7:00 pm - 9:15 pm

Screening of “The Other,” an award winning documentary exploring the complex relationship between Israelis & Palestinians

Purchase tickets here: Eventbrite.com

The Other is an award-winning documentary about Israelis and Palestinians who have chosen to meet across the divide and work side by side for a different future. Directed by Joy Sela and filmed between 2017 and 2024, it is the first film to follow Israeli-Palestinian peacebuilding communities both before and after October 7th.

The people at the center of the film have known each other mostly through violence and loss. Former fighters appear alongside parents who have buried their children, and what they share is a willingness to hold the pain of “the other” while still carrying their own. Their example is a reminder that even deeply rooted fear and hatred can be unlearned.

Faith Commons is hosting this screening in partnership with Human Rights Dallas, the Alliance for Middle East Peace, Atidna International, and Wilshire Baptist Church. Please stay after the film for a talk back with Natali Levin-Schwarz and Jadd Hashem. Natali is an Israeli now living in Dallas, where she serves as Director of Research and Policy Impact at the Alliance for Middle East Peace. Jadd, whose father is Palestinian, is a first-year student at Dedman School of Law and co-founded Atidna International while an undergraduate at the University of Texas.

We are charging for this film because we have a limited number of seats, and when we don’t charge, people RSVP and forget to come! But if the ticket price is a barrier, please contact one of us and we will make sure you can attend.

Hope to see you there.
Until then, keep the faith.
