Name the Injustice: CLEAR DFW Press Conference, Livestream, and Weekly Prayer Vigils

Faith Commons Friends,

Last Friday (January 23), Faith Commons and CLEAR DFW held a press conference at Kessler Park United Methodist Church in Oak Cliff. We did this in solidarity with clergy in Minneapolis/St. Paul who called faith leaders across the country to stand with them in opposing the violence of ICE.

Two of our CLEAR DFW clergy, Rev. Mara Bim (Royal Lane Baptist) and Rev. T.J. Fitzgerald (First Unitarian Church of Dallas), traveled to Minnesota to be part of that national clergy action. We’re grateful for their presence, and we stand with every faith leader who showed up to insist on human dignity and the rule of law.

CLEAR (the Clergy League for Emergency Action and Response) is an interfaith coalition of local clergy who are acting together in response to the growing crisis facing immigrant communities. Over the past several months, CLEAR has been showing up with moral clarity, including through a steady public presence outside the Dallas ICE Field Office.

Livestream

If you missed the press conference, you can watch the livestream here:

Weekly Prayer Vigils

One ongoing way to stand with immigrant neighbors is our weekly clergy-led prayer vigil outside the Dallas ICE Field Office.

Monday mornings from 8:00–10:00 a.m.
8101 N. Stemmons Freeway
Dallas, TX 75247

If you’d like to come, you’re welcome to stand with us for any portion of that time.

Thank you for being part of this work, and for staying connected in a moment that asks so much of all of us.

In solidarity,
Rabbi Nancy Kasten & Rev. Dr. George Mason
